"Brazil is the first partner of France in Latin America for scientific cooperation, with particular attention to research and technological innovation"

The French Brazilian Symposium on Interventional Neuroradiology has a rich history rooted in the collaboration between France and Brazil. France has long been recognized as one of the most prestigious schools in the field of interventional neuroradiology. Over the years, many Brazilian professionals have undergone training in France and returned to their homeland, establishing national centers that uphold the same standards of care as their French counterparts.

As an increasing number of fellows completed their training in France and returned to Brazil, their bonds and collaborative research efforts grew stronger. This reinforced the educational projects between the two countries, fostering a sense of camaraderie and knowledge sharing. Recognizing the value of this partnership, Professor Charbel Mounayer and Professor Michel Piotin, along with their former Brazilian fellows Daniel Abud, Marco Tulio Resende, Felipe Padovani, and Guilherme Nakiri, took the initiative to organize the inaugural French Brazilian Symposium on Interventional Neuroradiology.

The first symposium was held in Limoges, France, in 2016. Since then, the event has been held alternately in France and Brazil, emphasizing the commitment to bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of professional ties between the two nations. With each edition, the symposium has consistently attracted leading experts, renowned researchers, and enthusiastic practitioners from all around the world. This convergence of expertise and passion creates a dynamic environment for the exchange of knowledge and valuable networking opportunities.

One of the defining characteristics of the French Brazilian Symposium on Interventional Neuroradiology is its limited number of participants. This intentional constraint allows for a more intimate and interactive atmosphere, fostering close interaction among attendees. This unique environment encourages experience exchange, enabling everyone to learn from one another's insights and perspectives.

Through its history and ongoing success, the symposium has played a vital role in promoting collaboration, advancing research, and elevating the standards of interventional neuroradiology in both France and Brazil. It stands as a testament to the power of international cooperation and the positive impact it can have on medical communities worldwide.
